Integrated Physiotherapy Support for Racehorses
My years of close involvement with all aspects of racehorse training has allowed me to develop a physiotherapeutic support system that benefits not only the horse but the whole yard. A system whereby small musculoskeletal changes or soreness are diagnosed and treated quickly is important for
a smooth progression to race fitness without discomfort
Any possible red flag injuries are diagnosed more quickly
Allows communication between all professional parties involved
Treatment is easier and more effective when addressing the onset of a musculoskeletal problem, rather than an advanced injury.
How it Works
1: Each horse is assessed for movement and physical observation from the beginning of the training season, allowing to flag up certain issues to keep an eye on, like slight lameness, feet issues..
2: After the initial consultation, the horse is reassessed minimally every month or on the trainers request.
3: A detailed record is kept per horse during the season which is easily accessed by the trainer for comparison about the received treatments and progression.
4: A pre-race and post -race consultation is standard and could include relaxing techniques for best performance and smoother recovery.
WHY THIS CONCEPT?
It is more informative about the horse and its athletic performance
No time wasting, effective techniques can be applied quicker and at the right time.
The price structure is more economical for the yard
