I am a Veterinary Chartered Physiotherapist specializing in the support of sport horses. As a longstanding member of Association of the Chartered for Animal Therapy (ACPAT), we work hand in hand with the Veterinary Profession, guarantying a scientific approach.
My passionate interests are the biomechanics of the horse and the effect of training methods on the performance of the horse.
Qualifying as a Chartered physio from Gent University and gaining practical experience in the field of human sports physiotherapy for 2 years, thus gathering invaluable practical knowledge for the treatment of musculoskeletal problems. The desire to work with sport horses brought me to the UK.
As co-founder of Enigma Physiotherapy in the beautiful Cotswolds in 1989, the possibilities to gain the knowledge and experience to support racehorses, dressage horses and any horse in sport in conjunction with some of the top UK vet practices, was created.
To stay up to date with the ever evolving physiotherapy profession ; I finished a Vet Physio diploma course in Liverpool University in 2014.
What I value the most during a 30 year long career of treating sport horses is the experience of been able to see more of the whole picture and how we can play the best role to improve the performance and longevity of the sport horse.
As well as having a passion for treating horses; I am have a passion for training. Having competed to BD medium level with my previous horse Versailles; I now have two young horses who I purchased and brought over from Europe. I enjoy working through the training process and developing these horses in the right way biomechanically.
This ridden perceptive gives me a more holistic view when it comes to creating a treatment plan and through the rehabilitation process.
